Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television presenter in the US and a teacher at Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as the host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides simple, easy-to-learn techniques for the at-home cook in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell is also an experienced chef of New York City's best restaurants. Additionally, she has learned about Italy's food traditions and the culture of Italy, as well as the geography. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. She pursued her love of food and restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America following the completion of a bachelor's degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. She states "I was a huge Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I loved every minute of it." I couldn't be more educated or accomplished in my studies. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at Umbria. She also attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. While in Italy Burrell developed a deep appreciation and understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. This is a huge influence on the way she prepares her food. Burrell has been a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to improve children's lives who are facing challenges. Burrell is also a Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador which promotes awareness of the condition known as juvenile diabetes. She has been a frequent to speak at conferences and tours the country in her mentorship task. Through her culinary adventures, Anne has often said that I am so lucky to be able to share what I love most to others.
